Not receiving text messages or notifications from Direct2Care on your Android device?
If you’re not receiving text messages or appointment notifications from Direct2Care on your Android device, your phone’s spam filter may be blocking them. This is a common Android issue that can be fixed in a few steps.
Step-by-Step Solution
Open Your Default Messaging App: Direct2Care messages must be checked in the phone’s default SMS app (e.g., Samsung Messages, Google Messages).
Locate the Spam Folder: Most Android phones include a spam folder inside the messaging app. Look for:
- Spam & Blocked
- Spam Protection
- Blocked Messages
- Filtered Messages
You can usually find this by tapping the menu icon (⋮) in the top-right corner.![]()

Check for Direct2Care Messages: If you see any messages from Direct2Care in that folder:
- Open the message
- Tap “Not Spam” or “Move to Inbox.”
- Save the Direct2Care number to your contacts (this prevents future blocking)
Adjust Spam Filter Settings: To ensure messages are delivered:
- Go to Messaging App Settings
- Find Spam Protection or Block & Filter
- Turn off aggressive filtering, or whitelist the Direct2Care number
On some devices, you may need to disable “Block Unknown Senders” to allow appointment reminders.
Add Direct2Care to Your Contacts: Saving the number directly into your phone reduces the chance that messages will be flagged.
